This part of Armenia is a bit of a throwback to the Soviet era, passing by old shuttered factories and Soviet cars, buses and trucks plying what little is left of the highway (which either gives you a massage or motion sickness depending on your view). One should dedicated a day for this when in Tbilisi.I had a very enjoyable visit to Jvari Monastery and to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral with my knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, Vato Khinikadze at Gamarjoba Georgia Tours. But once or twice in a month, we are involved in tours as guides, because of our great desire. Really appreciated Davit as a guide. I was transferring from Tbilisi to Kazbegi to stay for 2 nights. The view from up here was very beautiful. At this moment we arrived at some tram which took us into the mountains, it was absolutely breathtaking! I was picked up at my Tbilisi hotel and dropped off at the end of the day at my Kazbegi hotel (tired and windblown but very happy). All the staff so friendly it feels like going on a trip with ur friend. Ps : Bakuriani with Kukushka is a must, The snow was amazing, feels like im on hogwart express :)(I spent the whole day with Davit.

I thought the restaurant Guga chose for lunch was so good and walked back down to it the next day for lunch. This excellent day tour out of Tbilisi by Gamarjoba Georgia Tours blended a nice relaxing day of tasting traditional clay pot wines and traditional Georgian bread, with sharing experiences with my fellow travelers (there were 4 of us) and our excellent guide, George Turkadze. By the time we reached the friendship monument and Gergeti church, we were battling strong winds and new snow (the ride up to Gergeti was pretty challenging). Our guides were guide Ekaterine, Mariam and toastmaster Beka! This tour is sold out pretty fast. The morning tour was very nice, and the view from Jvari monastery was amazing! They would offer us a glass of wine every single time we arrive at the office and they said if we ever had trouble in the city, they would have our backs!
