No outside catering in the Canteen. The restaurant has been here many years, and I have many wonderful memories here.We literally spent 20 min googling this place trying to find it, and then proceeded to drive from the city to Barrington IL to experience this again. The food was amazing, from the fresh oysters to the Digby scallop risotto. We pride ourselves on cooking everything from scratch and made fresh to order. He ordered a custom version - that involved English muffins, and they were more than happy to make it - and he thought it was delicious! The restaurant serves modern European food with a strong emphasis on high quality ingredients. Some unique breakfast dishes. It was that good the first time, and we needed to have it in our belly's again. The Canteen is a Barrington staple. Tasted like Van Camps straight out of the can.
